Currently Nolin is nearing winter pool and falling fast. Surface temps are right around 50 degrees with the clarity being stained. Finding schools of shad is key to finding active fish. Flats, creek mouths and points are good places to start. Look for the birds feeding on shad that are struggling in the cold water.
A jerkbait is good fished around 8 feet. A #7 shad rap in the craw pattern has been good on flats and mud banks. A ned rig is a good choice around docks. Try using an old school rubber jig and chunk on rock banks. Brown/orange is a good flavor with a green pumpkin chunk. You are most likely not going to get a lot of bites, but the bites are good!
Wear your PFD and be aware of hypothermia.
