Edmonson Voice Staff Report:
A Smiths Grove woman is facing multiple charges after driving intoxicated through Brownsville on the rim of her car, according the Edmonson County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff's deputies said that they received a call around 11pm on Wednesday, May 30th regarding a car that ended up over the curb in front of the Bank of Edmonson County on Main Street. The caller said that the driver appeared to have overdosed on an unknown substance, but drove off with a flat tire, which eventually disintegrated in the street. Deputies said the driver, Lori Bogle, (46) of Smiths Grove, drove the car from the bank to the Brownsville Minit Mart on the rim of her car where deputies initiated contact in the parking lot. According to deputies, Bogle showed multiple signs of intoxication, failed multiple field sobriety tests, and blew a .152 in a breath test, nearly twice the legal limit to drive. Deputies said Bogle tried to flee on foot twice but was detained by law enforcement. Bogle reportedly had no idea she had been driving on a rim and not a tire. She was arrested and charged with Driving under the influence of alcohol, Disorderly conduct-2nd degree, and Resisting arrest. She was lodged in the Hart County Jail.
