The Santa’s Helping Hands Benefit and Auction scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2020 has officially been moved to the Edmonson County High School gym.
"We feel this would help with social distancing due to the extra room and seating," said event coordinator Mark Wardlow. "We are encouraging face coverings to be worn. Temperatures will be taken at the door for safety precautions. Hand sanitizer will be provided. All items will be sanitized before the auction. Face masks will be provided if you do not have one. We are doing everything we can to keep everyone safe. Due to our current circumstances, our typical meal will be altered. This year there will be hot dogs, chips, and drinks provided free of charge."
Wardlow said that SHH, Inc., is hoping that ECHS will be the permanent site for the group's auctions in the future.
"We're very excited about this location," he said. "We'd like to publicly thank Superintendent Brian Alexander, Principal Jonathan Williams for generously offering the space for this year and years to come. Brian and Jonathan were both happy to assist as a result of what Santa’s Helping Hands provides to students and families in Edmonson County."
Wardlow said planning their benefit events this year has been difficult due to the pandemic and the organization has faced it's share of challenges; however, they still look forward to a safe, successful auction on Saturday that will continue to provide aid to Edmonson Countians who need it most.
"This has been a tough year for everyone. We know there are likely more in need this year than ever before. We really need your support in helping others during these trying times. We have a lot of great items this year that can be viewed on Santa’s Helping Hands INC Facebook page. Please help us make this a Merry Christmas for our fellow Edmonson Countians. We hope to see you there! If you have any questions about this event, feel free to call us at 270-991-2972."
