SKY Educational Opportunity Centers Connects Adults to Education

Southcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College is home to a new TRIO program: SKY Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC). The program, which was funded in September 2021, is federally grant-funded by the Department of Education, and its primary purpose is to connect adults to higher education.

SKY EOC assists adults who are interested in going back to school at any stage of their career; its youngest participants are seniors in high school.
Their free services include:

• Assistance with financial aid (FAFSA) & scholarship applications
• Information about postsecondary opportunities
• Assistance with the college admission & transfer process, including fee waivers and transcript requests
• Support for students with limited English, people with disabilities, & homeless youth
• Information about & assistance with General Education Development (GED) programs
• Career counseling, financial literacy, & time management skills
