Upcoming Rocky Hill Fire Department Board Meeting: Volunteers, Board Members Needed

Rocky Hill Volunteer Fire Department is seeking firefighters, board members, and will be electing a new chief at their next meeting, which is scheduled for Monday, April 11, 2022 at 7PM.

Joe Carl Daugherty, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the fire department, called the Edmonson Voice today and discussed the department's need for assistance.

"People just aren't taking interest in the fire departments like they used to," he said. "We have two board positions that are open and we'll vote on that Monday night. We will also vote on a new fire chief."

Daugherty said the department has recently moved into a new firehouse, debt free.

"We're in the new firehouse and we've got the equipment, we just don't have the manpower we need," he said. "All Rocky Hill district members can vote in our board election, and everyone is welcome to come to our Monday night meeting. It's very important that we do all we can to get more people involved. It could be life and death to somebody."
