Chamber of Commerce Hosts Ribbon Cutting

Warnell Family Pharmacy & Soda Shoppe celebrated their grand opening today in Brownsville with a packed house and a special ribbon cutting from the Edmonson County Chamber of Commerce.

Owners Samuel and Valerie Warnell were busy today not only talking to customers, but also working in front and behind the counters of their new pharmacy which offers much more than prescription drugs.

Many customers stopped in to try out the food items from the Soda Shoppe.

The Soda Shoppe offers all types of hot breakfast and lunch sandwiches, along with custom soda and ice cream creations. Samuel said having his own place has always been a dream of his and Valerie's, and that he wanted to provide not only competitive prescriptions and pharmaceuticals, but also old fashioned products and services that communities used to see years ago.

"We wanted to bring back the old school flare of soda fountains that used to be in pharmacies long ago," he said. "We've combined the two and we're happy to offer all the modern services that pharmacies have to offer, including vaccinations, sync packaging, all the things on the pharmacy side, along with including great foods like coffees, ice cream, all sorts of sandwiches, pastries, to-go orders, really a little bit of everything for everybody."

The pharmacy is open from 10AM to 6PM daily with drive-through service, Monday through Friday, and 10AM to 2PM on Saturday. The Soda Shoppe is open 6AM to 6PM Monday through Friday and 8AM to 2PM on Saturday.

Josh Casey, Vice President of the Edmonson County Chamber of Commerce, said it's always a thrill to welcome a new business to the community.

"As the last occupant of this building, I am awestruck by what they have accomplished and wish them nothing but success," he said. "The massive turnout today is indicative of the esteem the Warnell family name enjoys here in Edmonson County, and hopefully many years of future success."
