Bridget Simon Named Head Coach of Lady Cat Volleyball

​Edmonson County High School has named Bridget Simon head coach of the Lady Cat Volleyball team.

Simon, who has been an assistant coach for three seasons, will take over for the departing Bridgett Poteet, who resigned a few weeks ago. Poteet is also head softball coach for ECHS.

We spoke with Coach Simon earlier today.

"Being a former Lady Cat Volleyball player, I'm excited for the opportunity to help grow the program," she said. "I feel all of my experience as an assistant coach has prepared me to take on the role of head coach."

Simon also teaches Geometry and Algebra at ECHS. Her husband, Anthony is a teacher at the EC 5/6 Center.

"I'm excited to see all of these young ladies grow throughout the year and see what next season will hold for all of us."
