Timely three-point shots from Edmonson County in the second half led to some offensive runs that helped the Cats notch a 67-52 victory over Allen County-Scottsville last night at ECHS. Edmonson County pressured ACS throughout the game, which led to turnovers for the Patriots; several of which turned into points for the Cats. The 3-pointers from the Cats snuffed out a couple of run attempts by the Patriots.
Edmonson County never trailed during the game. ACS narrowed the margin to 5 with 2 minutes to go in the third but a three from Braxton Highbaugh extended the lead. Highbaugh had 15 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 blocked shots. From that point, Edmonson County went on a 19-5 run that included threes from Evan Stice, Highbaugh, Zander Bass and Tyler Anderson, that wouldn't allow the Patriots a chance to get close again. Trace Taylor paced the Cats with 20 points. Braden Wall was the third Cat in double figures with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Evan Stice had 8 points, Bass had 6, Anderson added 5, and Noah Parsley and Clay Clemmons added one each. Edmonson County improves to 11-10 on the season and will travel to Logan County for a JV/V match beginning at 6pm. The game will be live streamed on the Edmonson Voice.
