Edmonson County High School has announced that Edmonson County Lady Cat Head Coach Kevin Jackson has been named the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches Region 3 Girls' Coach of the Year. Jackson came back to Lady Cat basketball before the start of the 2015-16 season after leading them to district titles in 1994, 1995, and 1998. He has compiled a record of 40-20 since returning to Edmonson County. Jackson first arrived in Edmonson County in 1989 where he was the boys' freshmen and JV coach and varsity assistant. He took over duties of head coach for the girls in 1992 and stayed there for 11 seasons. He also served as head coach for Lady Cat softball from 2003-2010. "I'm glad to be respected by the other coaches in the third region," said Jackson. "This award is shared with a great staff and a super bunch of ladies. We try to run a first-class program and it takes everyone doing their part." Coach Jackson will be presented the award in a ceremony TBD during the KHSAA Sweet Sixteen state basketball tournament in late March. The Lady Cats are scheduled to take on Grayson County in the district finals this Thursday night at Butler County High School at 7pm. Comments are closed.
