Edmonson Voice Staff Report: Edmonson County's first 3-on-3 basketball league, "EC3," recently completed their inaugural season, which featured nine teams and a double-elimination tournament. The championship trophy was awarded to The Screamin' Goats, who defeated The Red Rockets in a two-game final. An award ceremony followed where plaques were presented to the top vote-getters, chosen by the league's board members, which included: Offensive player of the year-Ryan Lindsey, Defensive player of the year-John Potter, and league MVP-Caleb Skaggs. "We feel like it was a great first season," said co-founder Caleb Skaggs. "Everything went very smoothly and all our feedback has been very positive. We're already planning and looking forward to next season." Skaggs co-founded the league with friend, Peyton Talley.
Shirts are still available for purchase from the league, which is one of the ways the local non-profit organization is trying to raise money for the purpose of reinvesting into county sports programs. "We have some major stuff planned for the younger people in the county so we encourage everyone to follow our social media pages to catch all the updates. The league can be followed on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
