Darren Doyle, story and photos Even though the first official game isn't for a couple weeks, Wildcat Stadium was the place to be tonight (Saturday 8/8) as the ECHS Football Boosters hosted the first annual "Meet The Wildcats" Festival/Fundraiser. Each member of the team was introduced and asked a question "What's your favorite part of ECHS Football?" Answers ranged anywhere from "I love being with my teammates" to "I like to hit people." In addition to the players, the coaching staff was also introduced as well as the cheerleaders and the Wildcat Band. Coaches took turns in the dunking booth as they were drenched over and again. There was plenty of food, music, and fun as all the proceeds went towards new weightlifting equipment. It was sponsored in part by Modern Woodmen of America, as they matched up to $2500 in funds tonight. Coach Kyle Pierce was very pleased with the turnout. "Meet the Wildcats was a tremendous success," he said. "Our guys had a lot of fun and were thankful for everyone who came out to support them." One of the things that stuck out to him were all the parents and volunteers lending helping hands for the event. "We talk to our players about being great teammates. When they see their families all working together, they see real teamwork in action." He said he was encouraged by all the support. "We hope that we'll have great crowds at our home games as well as ones that will travel with us on the road." Enjoy some photo highlights from the festivities this evening.
