ECHS Track & Field Has Positive Outing At State Meet

The ECHS Track and Field team had six seniors that qualified for the state meet held on May 27, 2016 in Lexington, Kentucky. 

The 4 x 800 Relay team placed 15th statewide with a time of 8:52.68. Members of the relay team were Austin Sasse, Jackson Sasse, Jarod Hines, and Rylan Moore.
 
Between the six of them everyone had a GPA of 3.9 or higher.  The four relay members were also the top 4 in class rank for 2016.

Austin Sasse qualified in two events, the relay and the 800 meter run, a run in which he ranked second in the region.  He metaled in the state meet with a time of 2:03.69. and finished 7th overall, which enabled him to be named to  the all state team.  This is Austin's 4th year in a row to go to state in both track and cross country. He's been offered a full scholarship for academics, cross country and track & field at Campbellsville University.

Austin's family said they were extremely grateful to track coach Brad Meredith for being such a mentor to him. They said Coach Meredith had gone above and beyond expectations and had a huge, positive impact on Austin's athletic career and life.​

Dylan Lemieux qualified for state in boys shot put.  He came in 19th with a throw 40-08.00.

Jacob Peger was also another Wildcat to qualify for the state meet boys discus.  He placed 18th with a throw of 113-09
