Edmonson County Wildcats Varsity Notches A Win Against Cumberland County
Edmonson County emerged victorious 73-34 against Cumberland County on Sunday on the strength of Dakota Woodcock, who scored 16 points. The Wildcats scored early, claiming a 40-15 lead at the half. With 24 points in the third quarter, Edmonson County added to their existing lead. Woodcock had a great game from the field, making 71% (5-for-7) of shots attempted as well as 60% (3-for-5) of threes attempted. He also shot well from the line, making 75% (3-for-4) of free throws attempted. Hunter Buttram (8 points) and Caleb Skaggs (7) each contributed multiple three-pointers. Austin Sowders made it into double digits, scoring 15 points for Edmonson County (6-for-7). Also contributing for Edmonson County were Bailey Board (7 points, 2 rebounds), Cole Bedwell (7 points, 4 rebounds), Trevor Norris (6 points, 1 rebound),Chase Turley (4 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal) and Iszic Blankenship (2 points, 1 rebound). Sowders was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up eight rebounds. Edmonson County finished the game with 38 rebounds (14 offensive/24 defensive) and five steals.
