Edmonson Voice Sports Staff
The Edmonson County Wildcats sought revenge against Allen County-Scottsville last night on the road and found it, beating the Patriots 55-42 after losing to them at home earlier in the season on a last-second shot in the Wildcats' home opener. Even with senior Daniel Caudill out with an ankle sprain, the Wildcats were able to out rebound the Patriots 30-21, kept their turnovers down to only 8, and only lacked a couple of points having 5 players in double figures. Things stayed pretty even through three quarters and Edmonson led 39-38 early in the fourth, but an 11-2 run was more than the Patriots could handle. The Wildcats outscored Allen County 14-6 in the final quarter, the exact opposite of what happened last time at home when Allen County outscored Edmonson 17-7 in the last quarter. Caleb Skaggs led the Wildcat offense with 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Bailey Board and Logan Lindsey each had 10 points and 3 rebounds apiece, Iszic Blankenship had 9 points and 13 rebounds, and Tucker Cole added 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. The Wildcats are now 13-7 on the year and look to maintain a perfect record in District 12 games tonight as Trinity comes to town for a make-up game. The girl/boy doubleheader is scheduled for tip off at 6pm with girls' action beginning first. Lady Cat Head Coach Kevin Jackson looks to notch his 200th career victory as a high school basketball coach. The WildcatsLive pregame show is scheduled to start at 5:50pm.
