Lady Cats Improve to 21-7 On Season With Win Over McLean Darren Doyle, story: Madison Doyle, photos: With only one more regular season game left, the Lady Cats have their eyes on the District 12 Tournament, which will be hosted at Edmonson County next week. Nothing helps the morale of a team more than a winning streak, and Edmonson County is officially right in the middle of one; which is currently at 9 with last night's win over McLean County on the road. The Lady Cats started things off the right way by attacking McLean's offense. The Lady Cougars struggled to get open shots and Edmonson County was there to rebound. The Lady Cats also attacked in transition and thanks to a hot hand from Emma Rose Vincent (22 points-7 rebounds-3 blocks) who had 16 points in the first half on 8/9 shooting from the field, the Lady Cats created a deficit that McLean County couldn't overcome. Edmonson County held McLean County to only 8 points at halftime (27-8) and even though the Lady Cougars outscored the Lady Cats in the second half (27-21) it wasn't enough to derail EC in their effort to earn their 21st win of the season. Senior Chanley Logsdon had 12 points--all on three pointers, Lauren Ballance added 4 points and 10 rebounds, Madison Harrison had 4 points and 6 rebounds, Mia Goad had 3 points and 3 rebounds, and Katie Lindsey and Josi Morrison each had 2.
Edmonson County is scheduled to take on Greenwood this Friday night at home at 6pm in a G/B doubleheader, which will be the final regular game of the year. It will also be senior night at ECHS. You can listen to the audio broadcast and watch the video stream, including the senior night festivities, beginning at 5:50pm.
