Edmonson Voice Sports:
The Edmonson Voice is proud to welcome the newest WildcatsLive broadcast member to our team, which is Granville Meredith. Granville joins the football crew and will serve as color commentator alongside play-by-play man, Scott Lindsey. Granville is a 1988 graduate of Edmonson County High School and played football, basketball, and baseball for the Wildcats. He served as an assistant golf coach at ECHS for 6 years, as well as volleyball PA announcer and clock keeper for ECHS basketball. He is also a KHSAA Softball & Baseball Official. "The opportunity for me to be part of both the Edmonson Voice and my high school is a great honor," Meredith said. "As the old saying goes--once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat, and being able to join the football broadcast team is going to be an awesome experience." The addition comes after the departure of former commentator Brian Alexander, who was named the new principal at ECHS in early July. The Edmonson Voice recently signed an exclusive three-year agreement with Edmonson County High School to be the only broadcast carrier for the Wildcats, which includes both audio and video streams, right here on EdmonsonVoice.com. Meredith has been involved with the Edmonson Voice from its beginning, albeit behind the scenes through tech work and operating systems. He filled in for a broadcast last season and was welcomed with a great response. "When you love sports, the Wildcats, and already have great relationships in Edmonson County, this is the best way I can think of to combine it all," he added. "I'm looking forward to a great season." The Wildcats open their season against Portland, TN at the Kenway Concrete Bowl, sponsored by the Bank of Edmonson County and will played at Warren East High School with kickoff at 7pm. The WildcatsLive crew will carry both the audio and video broadcasts on this site and on Facebook Live.
