Webb, a senior, achieved a throw of 52' 6", which beat the old school record set by Randy Meredith, which had remained for the last 35 years at a distance of just under 52 feet. ECHS Track and Field coach Brad Meredith said the track teams are now into the competitive portion of the 2024 season, competing at Barren County and Warren Central last week. Of course the biggest performance had to be Kasey Webb who threw over 50 ft in shot put for the first time, and he threw a state-leading mark of 52' 6". Kasey has worked very hard to reach this point in his high school career. He is exactly what track and field is all about. He has put in the time and effort to be an elite thrower , I am very proud of him. Coach Michael Peger has done such a great job with all of our throwers. They would not be where they are today without him. He deserves all the coaching credit with Kasey. I couldn’t be happier for him or Kasey." This week the track teams compete in meets at Glasgow and Greenwood.
