Edmonson County Dominates Warren Central in Three Innings, 15-0 Madison Doyle, story and photos: The Edmonson County Lady Cat Softball team hosted its annual senior night last night, April 22, 2024. The Lady Cats hosted and defeated the Warren Central Lady Dragons 15-0 in three innings. The Lady Cats are saying goodbye to three seniors, Makayla Hogg, Kaylee Ann Sanders, and Autumn Simmons. The short game saw Edmonson's first run on the board in the bottom of the first, when senior Kaylee Ann Sanders scored on a ground out from senior Autumn Simmons. After a quick top of the second, thanks to Lady Cat pitcher Julie Norris, the Lady Cats took control of the game in the bottom of the inning and never looked back. With two outs, the Lady Cats were able to put together the following consecutive plays: single, walk, single, single, double, Lady Dragon error, and another double to take a commanding 7-0 lead. After three straight outs against Warren Central in the top of the third, the wheels came off for the Lady Dragons as Edmonson County was able to put 8 more runs on the board, resulting in a run-ruled, 15-0 lop-sided win. Kaylee Ann Sanders went 2-3 for the Lady Cats with a double and 3 RBIs, Julie Norris went 2-3 with 2 RBIs, Jolee Vincent went 2-2 with a triple and 2 RBIs, Shelby Sowders also earned a triple and an RBI, Makayla Hogg knocked in one on a double, with Autumn Simmons and Addie Childress also earning base hits.
It only took 34 pitches for Norris to get the job done for the Lady Cats from the circle, giving up no runs on 3 hits, no walks, and struck out 3. Edmonson County committed no errors and put up 10 hits against the Lady Dragons. Edmonson County is now 7-10 on the season and is scheduled to travel to Butler County on Thursday for a District 12 match.
