Lady Cat Volleyball Sweeps Warren Central

The Warren Central Dragons traveled to EC last night looking for redemption from their loss to the Lady Cats earlier in the season.  Even with assistant coach Richey Ritter absent, EC swept with Freshman, JV, and Varsity-- all three squads picked up wins.  

Both the freshmen and JV teams won their matches as they had very solid performances.

Although the varsity team seemed a bit sluggish at the start, they picked up the tempo with everyone getting involved to win the first set 25 – 21. The second game featured great serving by Mikayla Lindsey as she led the team with 16 straight serves for points before Warren Central answered.  Elizabeth Woodcock was back in action last night from an ankle injury suffered at the Apollo tournament over a week ago.  Juniors Morgan Skaggs, Morgan Miller, Mary Chris Waddell, and Laney Meredith all gave sharp performances and Freshmen Caitlin Simon had many effective hits as usual.  Team Co-Captain and lone Senior Julie Sullivan played the libero position as a seasoned veteran, and the team gave the fans something to cheer about all night long.

The Lady Cats are now  5 – 5 on the year as they travel Thursday night to Hart County.
