Lady Cat Volleyball Wins All A Third Region Tournament

The Edmonson County Lady Cat Volleyball Team won the All A Third Region Title on Saturday at Frederick Fraize (Cloverport) for the second year in a row.

The Lady Cats defeated McClean County in the first game 25-15 and 25-16. District rival Whitesville-Trinity defeated Frederick Fraize set up a repeat of last year's final.

Edmonson County won the first set 25-15 but Trinity recovered and dominated the Lady Cats in the second set 25-13. The third set went down to the wire and Edmonson County won 25-23.

Junior Mikayla Lindsey, junior Caitlin Simon, and eighth grader Emma Woodcock were named to the All Tournament team. Junior Sierra Kenney was named to the All-Academic team.

The win allows the girls to advance to the All A Region State Tournament this Saturday in Louisville.

The Lady Cats take on Ohio County tonight at ECHS in a Varsity/JV/Freshmen game. The varsity game will be held first, starting at 5:30pm.
