Lady Cats Defeat Allen County Scottsville

The Lady Cats continued their strong play last night at ECHS as they defeated the Allen County Scottsville Lady Patriots 2-0.

Edmonson County came out with a strong 12-4 start, forcing Allen County to use an early timeout. The Lady Patriots quickly put up five unanswered points but it was as close as they'd come as the Lady Cats took the first set 25-16.

The second set was a closer contest and Allen County showed their toughness by hanging with Edmonson County all the way. The Lady Cats struggled to create any rhythm and played catch up with the Lady Patriots throughout the set.

After staying within a point or two of Allen County, EC took the lead at 17-16. A 8-4 run down the stretch propelled the Lady Cats to a 25-20 set win and the game.

The Lady Cats have won 8 out of their last 9 contests, losing only to top ranked Breckinridge County last week in three sets. They are now 8-6 on the season. They are currently ranked number two in District 12 play and hold a number five ranking in the Third Region.

They are scheduled to play in the All-A Third Region Tournament tomorrow at Frederick Fraize (Cloverport) beginning at 11am.
