photos by Granville Meredith It was an exciting night for volleyball last night at ECHS . Lady Cat Volleyball hosted the Monroe County Lady Falcons with a Freshman, JV, and Varsity match up. The Lady Falcons came entered the game with an impressive record of 14 – 1. The Freshmen won while the JV squad was edged by Monroe. The varsity game began with back and forth side outs. The Lady Falcons had some tall hitters and their sets were almost perfect. Not shaken, the Lady Cats were just as deadly with their sets and hitters but found Caitlin Simon the main ingredient for the win. Caitlin had multiple blocks at the net against Monroe's taller hitters that were turned into points for EC. The Lady Cats had great plays from Morgan Miller and Morgan Skaggs as well as key serves from Mikayla Lindsey, Laney Meredith and Mary Chris Waddell. Team Co-Captain and lone senior Julie Sullivan made some great plays in the back row to help lead the ladycats to a 25 – 19 victory in the first set. Monroe made some adjustments in the second set and led most of the set by one or two until EC took a timeout, down two at 21 – 19. EC slowly clawed their way back to tie the match at 24. Monroe County with great leaping ability got a kill to make it 24 – 25 with their serve. Another time out was called and Coach Heather Ritter was able to motivate all her players. EC came out of the time out dominating, while grabbing the next two points to make it 26 – 25. Mikayla Lindsey served what looked to be the game winner, yet somehow the Lady Falcons rallied and regained the lead 26 – 27. However this would be the last time Monroe would score. With Laney Meredith serving and Caitlin Simon at the net, EC would grab the next 3 points. With key plays from everyone, the Lady Cats pulled the victory in 2 straight sets.

Do you plan to post the high school team's schedules on your site? The schools website hasn't updated them since 2012, and I'm not sure how to find them
