Lady Cats Now at 23-4 For Best Record In School's History
Darren Doyle, story: Madison Doyle photos:
Edmonson County tied the all-time school record for the most number of wins in a single season last night with their largest margin of victory this year, as they defeated the Ohio County Lady Eagles on senior night 64-13. The team improved to 23-4, which is the best record in the history of Lady Cat basketball. The team has at least three more games remaining on the schedule.

Ohio County simply had no answer for Edmonson County's defense which caused one Lady Eagle turnover after another, which allowed the Lady Cats to convert on easy layups on the other end. Defensively, Ohio County failed to keep Edmonson from driving the lane for EC scoring opportunities. When they did, the Lady Cats were able to connect from the outside as they made 6 of 13 three-pointers.

Edmonson County shot 70% from the free throw line and 53.5% from the field. The Lady Cats were led offensively by Caitlin Simon with 18 points. Peyton Martin added 16 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds.

Katlin Collins had 6 points and 6 rebounds, Madison Harrison and Emma Rose Vincent added 5 points each, Skylar Lewis scored 4 points and grabbed 5 rebounds, and Chanley Logsdon added 4 points.

Five seniors were recognized during the senior night ceremonies: Caitlin Simon, Peyton Martin, Abby Alexander, Katlin Collins, and Skylar Lewis.

We sat down with Coach Kevin Jackson for an extended interview about the significance of this year's seniors and the record-breaking accomplishments from the entire team. Click here for the full article.

Edmonson County is scheduled to take on McLean County at home on Tuesday, February 13th for the final home game of the season in a girl/boy double header beginning at 6pm.
