![]() The ECHS Lady Cats hosted district rival Butler County last night as they took on the Lady Bears. The Lady Cats, who were without head coach Ted Hill due to a family matter, looked to improve their 9-12 season record. The first quarter was evenly matched as EC held a slight lead, 17 – 14. With a 12 - 6 2nd quarter, Butler County grabbed a 23 – 26 lead at halftime. The second half was a little different story and the game slowed down with a total of 28 fouls being called. The third quarter sped back up a bit as EC gained some momentum and pulled out to a 46 – 38 lead. In the fourth quarter both teams looked a little flat and went back -and- forth on the lead as regulation ended with a tie, 56 – 56 . As the match moved into overtime it was an even contest until the last minute where Butler County gained control as the Lady Cats fell short, 66 – 69. 3 Lady Cats were in double figures: Brandie Lindsey had 21 points, 6 assists, 7 rebounds, and 6 steals, Caitlin Simon also added 21 points along with 2 assists, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals, and Jhonna Basil finishedwith 11 points 4 rebounds.
Other scorers were Tori Browning 6 points, Madelyne Taylor 2 points, Rachael Duncan 2 points, Skylar Lewis 2 points, and Peyton Martin with 1 point. The Lady Cats will play tonight at home against Metcalfe County as ECHS celebrates the 2015 Homecoming. Activities are scheduled to take place between the Boys and Girls games, as the Boys will play first. Tipoff is scheduled for 6pm.
