Darren Doyle story
Madison Doyle, photos: It was a tough night for the Lady Cat offense last night as they shot only 26% from the floor and 20% from the three-point line in a 48-30 loss to Franklin Simpson at ECHS. Caitlin Simon led Edmonson County with 22 points and 8 rebounds, and that's about all the offense that the Lady Cats could offer. Only two other EC team members put points on the board, Peyton Martin, who connected on two 3-pointers for 6 points, and Skylar Lewis who added two free throws. Simon and Martin were the only two Lady Cats that made any field goals during the game. "They got physical on defense and we didn't step up," said Lady Cat coach Kevin Jackson. Two post players for FS scored 40 of the team's 48 points. An early deficit for the Lady Cats caused them to have to stay to a man-to-man defense, which caused Edmonson County some trouble. "We had trouble matching their size and strength inside. We've got to get better," Jackson said. The Lady Cats are now 3-2 on the season and are scheduled to take on Barren County on Thursday in a girl/boy match beginning at 6pm. WildcatsLive will carry the live broadcast for both games on EdmonsonVoice.com.
