Darren Doyle, story and photos The Lady Cat volleyball team had little trouble with the visiting Glasgow Scotties last night at ECHS as they won 2-0, (25-9, 25-16) winning their last five out of six games. The team has put together a positive turnaround since losing a preseason scrimmage game and the first four games of the season. Edmonson County dominated Glasgow in the first set, jumping out to a 6-0 lead and forcing a Lady Scotties timeout. Glasgow could never get into a rhythm and Edmonson County scored the last 6 points of the set as they won 25-9. A strong start also propelled EC to a commanding lead in the second set as Glasgow was forced to call timeout with a Lady Cat lead of 9-3. An 8-0 Edmonson County run put the set and the game out of reach for Glasgow as EC went on to win the set 25-16 and the game 2-0. The Lady Cats now have a record of 5-5. They are 1-1 in District 12 play. They will take on Hart County on Monday, 8/22 at Hart County in a F/JV/V match beginning at 5pm.
