Lady Cats Win 60-45 Darren Doyle, story: Madison Doyle, photos: The Lady Cats notched their first district win of the season against Butler County on the road Friday night with the help of Mia Goad's 15 points and 7 rebounds off the bench, and senior shooting guard Chanley Logsdon's 14 points, which included four, three-pointers. Edmonson County held a 9-7 lead after the first quarter but a huge second quarter that saw the Lady Cats outscoring the Lady Bears 22-9 allowed them to take a 31-16 lead into the locker room at the half. Edmonson County was able to keep the turnovers down to 13, a sharp contrast from much higher numbers in earlier games and impressed with a team 30 rebounds. Point guard Katie Lindsey was the third Lady Cat in double figures with 10 points. Emma Vincent added 7 points and 9 rebounds, Lauren Ballance and Josi Morrison each added 4 points, and Madison Harrison and Macie McCombs each added 3 points. Edmonson County improved to 4-3 on the season and is set to take on Franklin-Simpson at home on Thursday at 6pm at home in the 2018 Rafferty's Caveland Classic. Wildcats Fall To Bears, 75-63 A big third quarter from Butler County sealed the deal against the Wildcats in a 75-63 loss in Morgantown on Friday night. Turnovers were down slightly, but the Bears were simply able to knock down more shots as the Cats struggled from the field. Chaz Wilson delivered once again for Edmonson County with 21 points and 5 rebounds. He also shot 6/8 from the free throw line.
Dalton Decker and Griffin Spainhoward added 10 points each. Trent Taylor added 7 points off the bench. Eli Booker had 6, Nick Clemmons had 5, and Mason Pierce added 4 points. Edmonson County is now 2-6 on the season and is scheduled to take on Hancock County today at 2pm at home.
