School Cancelled: What It Means For Upcoming Games, Senior Night Rescheduled

Edmonson County Schools will be closed on Friday 2/9, Monday 2/13, and Tues 2/14/17. As a result, the following changes to the athletic schedule have been made:

• cancellation of practices today (2/8) and tomorrow (2/9)
• Lady Cats home game vs. Hancock County on Saturday, 2/11 has been changed to an away game, and is scheduled to take place at the Hancock County Classic after the boys game at 12:30 in the tournament and will be a girls' varsity match only--NO JV.

Senior Night Rescheduled
Tonight was originally the date for 2017 senior night for winter sports in a girl/boy doubleheader at ECHS vs. Ohio County, but that was postponed in a decision made yesterday, due to Ohio County already being out of session for illness.

Athletic Director Kyle Pierce announced today that senior night has been rescheduled for Friday, February 17, with the girls taking on Greenwood at home beginning at 6pm, and the boys will take on Logan County immediately after senior night festivities, which will follow the Lady Cats game.

The Friday, 2/17 game was originally supposed to be a doubleheader at Greenwood, but a coordinated effort between Logan and Edmonson County schools have once again made senior night at ECHS possible.

Hancock County Classic This Saturday
Boys' head coach Mike McClintic has also announced that the location for this Saturday's Hancock County Classic has been changed from the Owensboro Sports Center to Hancock County High School. The boys will play two games on Saturday with the first one scheduled against Bethlehem at 12:30pm.

If the boys win, they will advance to the championship round, scheduled for 5:30pm. A loss will put them in the consolation round which is set for 4pm.
