Lady Cats Improve To 20-6 On Season With One Regular Season Game Remaining Darren Doyle, story and photos: The final home game of the 2017 Lady Cat volleyball season took place last night at ECHS as Edmonson County fans cheered on eight seniors and their teammates in a 2-0 win over Hart County. The Lady Raiders simply couldn't keep up with the Lady Cats, falling in the first set 25-7 as consistent kills rained down on Hart County, thanks to quality EC passes and sets. Set two was much of the same as Edmonson County kept the momentum rolling through an emotional senior night. Although the score was much closer at 25-19, the game wasn't really that close as the Lady Cats were able to take advantage of opportunities to put players in different positions on the seniors' special night. The Lady Cats are now 20-6 on the season and are scheduled to take on Allen County on the road in the final regular season game of the year Thursday night at 5:30 in a F/JV/Varsity game.
The District 12 Tournament is already set for next week at Grayson County. The Lady Cats will take on Grayson County in the first round. Edmonson County is 2-0 against the Lady Cougars this season. Should the Lady Cats advance to the finals, they'll likely face the Trinity Raiders for the sixth consecutive year. The Lady Cats have not won a district championship since 2011 when they were in District 15 in the 4th Region. The WildcatsLive broadcast team will carry a live broadcast of the district finals should Edmonson County advance.
