Darren Doyle, story: Madison Doyle, photos: The Wildcats dropped their first district game of the season last night as they fell to Grayson County 53-46 on the road. The loss will have no effect on seeding of the upcoming District 12 tournament, as Edmonson County secured the top spot on Monday with a win over Trinity. Edmonson County had a sluggish start, falling behind 12-4. They had fallen behind 23-14 at the half, but a big third quarter cut the Grayson County lead to 35-31. Turnovers and missed opportunities plagued the Cats throughout the game and a strong 4th quarter by the Cougars secured their win. Iszic Blankenship had a solid performance with 15 points and 11 rebounds while Bailey Board added 14 points and 5 rebounds.
The remaining box score was: Caudill 7, Skaggs 6, Cole 2, Lindsey 2. The Wildcats are now 14-8 on the season. They are scheduled to take on Breckinridge County at home on Monday in a JV/V match beginning at 5:30pm. There will be no live broadcast so all fans are encouraged to attend. The final home game of the season is scheduled for Thursday, February 9 against Ohio County.
