Darren Doyle, story: Madison Doyle, photos: Hot shooting from senior Caleb Skaggs sparked a big 21-4 Wildcat second quarter that propelled Edmonson County past McLean County 68-35 last night on the road. Skaggs connected on four consecutive three-pointers for 12 of his team-high 20 points in the big win. "He was hot, and it sparked us big time," said assistant coach Bart Weaver. "But another key there was when we put Logan Lindsey in the game and he was active. I think those three pointers Caleb hit were off assists from Logan. Of course Caleb knocked those down but I thought they both did a good job and it opened it up for us." The Wildcats had gathered a 34-12 lead at the break and never looked back as they cruised to the 33 point victory. Another great team effort from Edmonson County saw several Cats putting points on the board and contributing in several areas. Tucker Cole and Bailey Board were the other two players in double figures with 12 and 10, respectively. Board also added 9 rebounds in addition to Cole's 5. Iszic Blankenship had 9 points and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds. Edmonson County swiped 40 rebounds as team, which is a team-high for the season. Also contributing was Logan Lindsey with 7 points, J.T. Vincent had 4, Brayden Carey had 2, and Ryan Lindsey added 2. The Wildcats are now 16-10 on the season and are scheduled to take on Logan County on Friday night immediately following the girls' game against Greenwood for senior night. Logan County has a 7-18 record on the year and has put up similar numbers against some of the same teams that the Wildcats have faced over the season.
