The Edmonson County Wildcat football team will travel to Adair County this Friday night to face the 5-0 Adair County Indians. The Wildcats come into the game with a 2-4 record and 0-1 in Class AAA Region 1, District 2 play after falling 40-0 to #1 ranked South Warren last week. Head football coach Kyle Pierce says that his Wildcats will need to bounce back after losing to a tough Spartan team this past Friday. “We were outmatched. South Warren has a really good football team. We made some nice plays against them, but they were too strong for us right now. Our kids will need to come back to work and focus in on another good football team this week against Adair County. This is probably the best football team Adair County has had in many years. They have some really good speed and an effective line. They are undefeated so far this year, so they are playing with a lot of confidence. We will need to get off to a good start and execute in all three phases. This game is important because it definitely impacts our playoff possibilities. A win Friday could allow us the chance to host a game in the playoffs, so hopefully our guys will put last week behind us and focus on the remainder of our district schedule.”
Kickoff is scheduled at 7:00 in Columbia.
