We're not sure if you can find all of the ingredients listed below at our neighborhood Cee Bee Food Store, but we still trust you'll enjoy the following Thanksgiving turkey recipes from kindergarten students at Kyrock and South Edmonson Elementary Schools. Enjoy!
Mrs. Jodi Johnson’s Kindergarten Recipes (KYROCK) *Jon Brooks- I will buy a turkey from Wal-Mart—a fat one. I don’t know what hour to cook it, but it will be brown. Put on a plate. Take parts out of it. Leave bones on plate. Eat with family. *Jake Lile- I would pick to kill it instead of buying at a store. I would shoot it behind the shoulder—like I do with deer. I will call for help from my papaw & cousins. Turkey can ride on back of Ranger. Gut it & I will cook it by myself. I will cook it 10 minutes at my mamaw’s. Get other food ready. I am going to ask my cousins, Gracie (since she is my sister, of course), mom, dad, mamaw, papaw, Gran, to eat with me. *Madalyn Long- I usually buy a turkey at a store. This year I will get a big one. I will clean it at home. I put it in oven. I usually cook them for two minutes. It will be done when it looks brown. We usually put lettuce stuff around turkey. Then eat. *Camlyn Sowders- I would hunt a turkey in the woods. I would shoot a little one. They are easier to carry out. I would put it in a bag to get it out of the woods. I will cook it with my mom. I would think you cook it a long time, but maybe not long- since I shot a little bird. It will look like a turkey, but a cooked one, when done. Mrs. Nora’s Kindergarten Turkey Recipes (KYROCK) Allie Tomes You get the turkey at the store. Then you cook it in the stove. You have to put seasons on it (hot seasons and a little spices), and then it’s done! Carsen Williams You go out in the woods and shoot it. Then you cook it in the oven. Then you eat it. Makenna Browning To cook a turkey you would buy it at Meijer. Then you bake it in the oven for 6 minutes. You put pepper on it and that’s pretty much it. Jones Young You buy a turkey at Wal-Mart. You cook it inside the oven. You cook it for 10 minutes and it’s done. Mrs. Ali’s Turkey Recipes (KYROCK) Abigail Poteet You go in the woods. My Papaw goes in the woods and kills it. Mamaw cooks the turkey. She cooks it in the hot oven. She has to put seasoning on it. Then it’s done and you eat it. Bentley Self My dad usually buys a turkey at Wal-Mart. Then he brings it home and cooks it—usually in the oven. The oven is very hot, but that might burn the turkey so just put it on normal. You have to put spices on it, but I like my turkey with A-1. Sophie Dunham Well first of all, if I would get a turkey I would just go kill one cause’ that’s how me and my family roll--because we are hunters. I really don’t know how to cook it but well, it’s really simple. Well, I think that you would need to cook it in the oven. You pluck the feathers off, and just cook it. Benton Mercer You get the turkey from the farmer. When you get home you cook it in the kitchen. You put it in the oven for 10 hours. Then you eat it.
